Role overview

To manage and implement the agreed Arts programme for West India, ensuring that it is delivered to corporate standards and achieves its income and impact targets. To contribute to the development of relationships with key stakeholders which will increase the profile and impact of the programme across West India and achieve funding which will in the long-term allow the arts programme to operate on reduced grant subsidy.

This includes:

  • Providing  support to the arts team in for delivering all cultural programmes in the West. this includes our collaborations  with music festivals, litereature festivals, theatre events, and managing itineraries of cultural delegations from the UK
  • Engaging with key stakeholders internally and externally for arts programme delivery. 
  • Working with other colleagues in the arts teams across india, as well as marketing and communications, PR and programmes teams
  • Track, report, document and evaluate progress and overall strand performance against expected output

Specific requirements: Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties

  • In conjunction with Senior Arts Manager and with their respective Area Directors,  to be responsible for ensuring that the arts projects are managed across West India consistently and meet the project objectives 
  • Manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the cultural sector externally. 
  • To manage the delivery of arts events and delegation visits as planned. 
  • To deliver the on ground projects for our Digital projects including Mix the City, Mix the Play, etc
  • To track finances and budgets for our arts projects and ensure delivery to budget. 
  • To keep professionally updated on sector developments 
  • Demonstrate a high commitment to team working and creating a shared purpose. 

Work management 

• To work with staff in the programmes, Digital and arts teams 

Key relationships: (include internal and external) 

Internal: Senior Manager Arts, programmes team, Marketing and Media, Digital, finance teams

Other important requirements for the job:

Qualification: Firm grasp of arts sector in west india

  • Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Art History, design, etc)
  • Previous internship or related experience in arts is a plus
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). 
  • An effective communicator, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with external and internal contacts
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
