The 9th edition of STUDY UK Alumni Awards took place in Kolkata on 4 March 2023. The programme was curated to make the evening fun as well as informative. With a focus on importance of sports in education, the programme started with the narration of an inspiring life journey by Padmashri Deepa Malik, the first Indian woman to win a paralympic medal, Arjuna award and Khel Ratna awardee. The programme moved ahead with an interactive panel discussion on Role of Sports in Education in India with Deepa Malik, Saurav Ghoshal, world number 10 Squash player and Anirban Aditya, Educationist & Sportsperson.
With more than 200 guests, alumni, dignitaries and stakeholders including Peter Cook, Acting Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata, the room was full of enthusiasm and energy. Cherry on the cake was the hilarious comedy sketch by comedian Anuvab Pal and a foot tapping performance by Bangla band Bhoomi.
