Let’s join our hands together to support global efforts to ensure a world free of discrimination for young women and girls on 11 October 2016 declared as the International Day of the Girl Child by United Nations. This year’s theme focuses on adolescent girls and the Sustainable Development Goals, which set a range of international targets, including on gender equality, to be achieved by 2030. British Council is organising an interactive session to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child on Friday, 14 October 2016 at 11.30 am You are invited to join us to help make the Fifth Annual International Day of the Girl the most amazing day ever!
Girls in every country across the world are being subjected to many forms of violence - this is wrong and must stop. Girls have the right to live free from violence and the fear of violence. They need to be aware of their rights - and find the voice to create a global movement to end violence. Building from a whisper to a shout, we need to talk, join together and inspire action. Through this interactive session with Ms Anita Punj IPS ,IGP Personnel & Training Chandigarh we aim to empower young girls and women to speak out and take action.
