In this workshop by Nisar Shaikh, we will explore the concept of teacher development groups as an important way for teachers to learn from each other, collaborate and support each other's professional growth. We will begin by discussing the importance of teacher development groups and explore the different types of teacher development groups that exist. Finally, we will look at some effective activities that can be used in these groups and best practices to form and sustain successful teacher development groups.
About the presenter:
Nisar is a teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching in state government schools in Maharashtra. He served as a State Academic Resource Person (SARP) in the Tejas project, where he planned and delivered teacher trainings, observed lessons, provided feedback, and mentored teachers across the state of Maharashtra. He also worked as a mentor in the Action Research Mentoring Scheme (ARMS) Project sponsored by the British Council. He recently completed his MA TESOL from the University of Leeds and presented his dissertation research at the MA TESOL International Conference held at the University of Hull.
