James Godber is Deputy Head of Mission at the British Deputy High Commission in Bengaluru. He was previously the Deputy Head of the UK Science and Innovation Network in India and has lived in Bengaluru for the past 6 years. Outside of India, James has lived and worked in both Qatar and China also on diplomatic postings. In addition to time served in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London, where he has had varied roles including as officer responsible for the UK’s engagement with the Chemical Weapons Convention and in leading a team to look at how the UK might maximise its impact on the international stage, James has worked for the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in a range of roles. He has a BSc degree in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management (York) and a MRes degree in the Science of Environment (Lancaster).
