About the Poster
Effects of heat stress on aging and cellular health
As per WHO, this decade is dedicated to Healthy Aging. With the advent of global warming, we see rise in pathological aging complications that could be related to prolonged exposure to heat stress. Understanding the impact of heat stress on cells and tissues is important and finding out ways to boost that protection would be crucial.
Conducting research on aging model organisms with similarity to humans but doesn't require ethical clearance would be extremely useful and handy to understand stress resistance and aging. Once biologically characterized, this can help us devise effective strategies to boost the protective mechanisms mounted by our body to heat stress. This can, in turn, boost healthy and not accelerated aging in the population.
