What about assessment in those contexts where technology has yet to make a difference? This webinar, titled ‘Technology and tradition: the changing face of assessment in English language learning systems’, delves into the intersection of innovation and tradition, offering fresh insights into how English language assessments are transforming.
The discussion will centre around four key sub-themes: English for employability, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English education, Assessing young learners and the Role of English in multilingual education contexts.
Webinar Speakers:
Amol Padwad has been a teacher, trainer, teacher community leader and ELT consultant through a career spanning over 40 years, formally ending as the Professor & Director, Centre for English Language Education, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi. He is an Executive Member of the AINET Association of English Teachers (India) and a Trustee of the A. S. Hornby Educational Trust, UK. His professional interests include teacher development, teacher communities, history of ELE, decentring in ELT and teacher research. He has several publications and presentations on national and international forums to his credit, and has led many innovative ELT projects.
Mina Patel has been working in the field of education for over 25 years as a teacher, trainer, materials writer, project manager and now research in the British Council’s English Language Research. In her current role, Mina is part of the team working on the Future of English programme. She is Conference Chair for the New Directions in English Language Assessment Conference, Latin America and leads on the British Council’s assessment research grants schemes. Mina is currently a PhD student with CRELLA at the University of Bedfordshire, UK.
